Gondwanaland is a supercontinent that forms in the early Jurassic Period by the breakup of Pangaea. It comprises what in historic times are the southern continents: South America, Africa, Australia and Antarctica, plus India and Madagascar. It begins to break up early in the Cretaceous.
An earlier version of Gondwanaland exists from 550 million years ago until the formation of Pangaea 335 MYA.
