The Lone Ranger
"Hi-yo, Silver! Away!"
The Lone Ranger (b. 1850) is the secret identity of John Reid, a masked avenger in late 19th-century Texas, known for fighting outlaws and upholding justice.
He is the sole survivor of a band of Texas Rangers ambushed by the notorious outlaw Butch Cavendish. After being left for dead, Tonto, a Comanche scout, finds and nurses him back to health, becoming Reid's faithful companion.
The Lone Ranger's horse is Silver, and he is always seen wearing a mask, concealing his identity as he pursues justice. His trademark weapon is his use of silver bullets, which symbolize both his oath to justice and his desire to leave a distinct mark on the lawless frontier.
The Lone Ranger does not shoot to kill, preferring to disable his opponents by shooting their weapons from their hands. Known for his integrity, he avoids smoking and drinking, and always speaks with correct grammar, further embodying his moral code.
